Braylon Lazare returns for his senior season, hoping to build on his accomplishments in 2012-13 that made him a valued contributor off the bench for Louisiana. A tough and physical walk-on, he uses his 6-5, 210-pound frame to his advantage in the paint. His experience the last three years should help him to see time in a relatively young Cajuns lineup.
2013 Summer
•   Averaged 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds a game during the Spain tour, shooting .714 from the field (10-14).
2012-13 (JUNIOR)
•   Came off the bench to see action in 24 games, averaging 0.6 points and 0.7 rebounds in 5.2 minutes per game.
•   Made a pair of steals in 13 minutes vs. FIU (1/24/13).
•   Equaled career-high with three rebounds vs. Arkansas State (1/12/13).
•   Missed the North Texas and McNeese State games with an eye infection.
•   Went four-for-four from the line to match career-high with four points at Houston (12/15/12).
•   Scored a career-high four points with two rebounds in a career-best 14 minutes of action vs. Oakland (11/11/12)
•   Had two points, two rebounds and a block at Texas Southern (11/16/12).
•   Grabbed a career-high three rebounds at Boise State (11/18/12).
JUNIOR COLLEGE
•   Averaged 7.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, shooting .560 from the field as a sophomore at Kilgore College, playing for coach Brian Hoberecht.
•   Played his freshman season at Jefferson Davis C.C. in Brewton, Ala., averaging 15.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
•   Named first team all-region and first team all-division as a freshman.
High School
•   Three-time all-district selection at Woodlawn High, playing for coach Elmo Fernandez.
•   Averaged 14.0 points, 6.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game as a senior and 13.3 points and 8.6 rebounds as a junior.
•   Lettered four times in basketball and once in tennis.
Personal
Born Sept. 14, 1992 in Lafayette, La. . . .son of Karry & Julie Lazare. . . is one of four children, having two brothers (Darnell & Cameron) and one sister (Kerrilyn). . . his mother, Julie (1979-82) and sister, Kerrilyn (2009-11) were both members of the UL volleyball team and his brother, Darnell, lettered in basketball at LSU from 2003-07. . . was active in the I Care Club in high school. . . academic all-state honoree in high school. . . general studies major.
