Colt Brown Named To Perfect Game Freshman All-America Team

Freshman backstop named to second team on 44-member team

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana catcher Colt Brown added another honor to his standout freshman campaign Thursday, earning Freshman All-America recognition from Perfect Game.
 
Brown paced the Ragin' Cajuns offensively this season, batting .314 with eight home runs and 53 RBI. The freshman from Seguin, Texas was a fixture behind the plate, making 64 starts in Louisiana's 66 games. His impressive debut season also earned him second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors and a spot on the league's All-Freshman Team.
 
The national accolade marks Brown's second postseason honor in as many days. On Wednesday, he and fellow Cajun pitcher Cody Brasch were both named second-team selections to the ABCA All-South Region Team.
 
Louisiana wrapped up the 2026 season with a 41-25 record and secured an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Ragin' Cajuns advanced to the regional final of the NCAA Starkville Regional against Mississippi State after earning wins over Lipscomb and Cincinnati.
