Louisiana Places Pair On ABCA All-South Region Team

Brasch, Brown earn second-team recognition in vote by head coaches
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's Cody Brasch and Colt Brown each earned second-team All-South Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association, the organization announced.

Brasch led Louisiana in ERA (2.77), saves (6) and opponent batting average (.197) in his first season with the Ragin' Cajuns. The right-hander, who earned second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors, posted a 6-3 record in 22 appearances with eight starts while fanning 82 batters in 74.2 innings on the mound.

Brown, a freshman catcher, led Louisiana at the plate with a .314 average with eight home runs and 53 RBI. The Seguin, Texas native started behind the plate in 64 of Louisiana's 66 games and was named a second-team All-SBC member and one of four Cajuns named to the league's All-Freshman team.

Louisiana finished 41-25 overall on the season, reached the regional final for the second time in three years and was one of five Sun Belt Conference schools to earn a berth in the NCAA Regionals.
