Louisiana to face Lipscomb in elimination game on Saturday at 3 p.m.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Jack Natili hit three of Cincinnati's six home runs and Nathan Taylor limited Louisiana's offense over six innings as the No. 22 Bearcats defeated the No. 25 Ragin' Cajuns, 12-2, Friday in the NCAA Starkville Regional at Dudy Noble Field.

Louisiana (39-24) will face Lipscomb (29-25) in an elimination game Saturday at 3 p.m. The contest will stream on ESPN+, with radio coverage available locally on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide through the Varsity Network app.

The Bearcats (38-20) broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning when Enzo Infelise launched a two-out, two-run home run to center field for a 3-1 advantage. Cincinnati added to its lead on Christian Mitchelle's RBI triple before Charlie Niehaus capped a five-run inning with a two-run homer to left-center, extending the margin to 6-1.

Ryan Tyranski opened the fifth inning with a solo home run to right field before Natili connected on a two-run blast to left, pushing Cincinnati's lead to 9-1. Natili, who tied the game with a solo homer in the second inning, completed his four-hit performance with a two-run homer in the seventh.

Louisiana, making its 20th NCAA Regional appearance, grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Noah Lewis drew a one-out walk and scored from first base when Lee Amedee's single to right field was misplayed into a three-base error.

Taylor (7-3) held the Cajuns hitless until Colt Brown's two-out single in the fifth inning. The Cincinnati right-hander allowed one run on three hits, walked four and struck out three over six innings.

The Cajuns finished with five hits and scored their second run in the seventh inning when Donovan LaSalle singled, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on Maddox Mandino's two-out single to left field.

Cody Brasch (6-3) was charged with the loss after allowing seven runs on eight hits in four innings.
