Louisiana Rolls Past Nicholls for Sixth Straight Win

Ragin' Cajuns win five singles courts in straight sets
THIBODAUX – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Tennis team extended its winning streak to six matches with a 6-1 victory over Nicholls on Monday, March 9 at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.
Louisiana (8-3) continued a strong run that dates back to February 14, dominating singles play by claiming five of six courts in straight sets after doubles play.
At the top of the lineup, Angelique Berrat pushed her personal winning streak to six matches with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) victory over Paulina Villegas at No. 1 singles. The win improved Berrat to 8-1 this spring on Court 1.
Martina Della Gora also extended her streak to six matches, defeating Blanca Losada, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 4 singles. Della Gora improved to 5-1 on Court 4 while moving to 7-1, overall, in singles play.
Louisiana's decisive run of straight-set singles wins came from Safia Zenbi (6-0, 6-2), Della Gora (6-4, 6-3), Rocio Navarro (6-2, 6-2) and Ana Martinez Vaquero (7-5, 6-0) in succession, helping the Cajuns quickly secure the match. Berrat then made it five consecutive sweeps with her finish on Court 1.
Marilou Bressan added a three-set victory at No. 2 singles, outlasting Aada Inna, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9, to finish the contest.
In doubles play, Berrat and Nina Krecklenberg earned Louisiana's lone win with a 6-3 decision over Losada and Noemie Piquet on Court 2.
