Matchup on the mountain marks the completion of Louisiana’s current four-match road stretch

BOONE, N.C. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team is on the road once again this week, competing in a two-match Sun Belt Conference series with East Division-leading App State at the Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, North Carolina from Friday-Saturday, October 23-24.

The Ragin' Cajuns (10-11, 5-3 SBC) and Mountaineers (14-8, 7-1 SBC) meet at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) on Friday (Oct. 23) and 12:00 p.m. (CDT) on Saturday (Oct. 24). Live video coverage of both matches is available on ESPN+.

This weekend's series sees the continuation of a cross-division matchup that's been on the books each year since the SBC adopted current scheduling model in 2022. UL makes its first appearance in Boone since 2022.

Louisiana started its current four-match road stretch in Mobile, Alabama last weekend, narrowly missing a series sweep after South Alabama staved off the Ragin' Cajuns attempt at a reverse sweep on Saturday.

The Mountaineers victory in the 2025 series finale at E.K. Long Gym broke a string of six consecutive wins by the home team in the UL-APP series – a trend the Ragin' Cajuns seek to continue.

The Ragin' Cajuns are coming off a weekend of 17 service aces in Mobile. They'll be matched up against an App State service that ranks second in conference play at 1.84 aces per set (57 total).

Overall, it's a matchup of two teams with similar offensive production and front row defense – the two sides ranked Nos. 6-7 in kills and blocks in the SBC. Lolo Lambert's 3.4 kills per set (209 total) and Emily Williams 1.1 blocks per set (91 total) pace UL while App State is led by Bella Hutchens (3.3 kills/set; 260 total) and former Cajun Chelsea Gilmore (1.0 blocks/set; 85 total).
