Louisiana Finishes Homestand With Texas State Rematch

Ragin’ Cajuns look to rebound from Thursday’s heartbreaker against ULM
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Women's Basketball team wraps up its season-long, five-game homestand on Saturday, January 10 facing off with Texas State at 3:00 p.m. inside the Cajundome.
The contest is the second half of a doubleheader with the Louisiana men's squad which begins the day meeting Troy at Noon.
The Ragin' Cajuns (1-14, 0-5 SBC) and Bobcats (6-8, 2-2 SBC) are completing their season series and meeting for the final time as conference foes. Live coverage is available on ESPN+ and The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM.
Admission to Saturday's contest – and all UL Women's Basketball games throughout the entire season – is free and open to the public. The Cajundome's clear bag policy and cashless concessions will be implemented.
Louisiana looks for a split with Texas State which captured a 62-55 win in the SBC opener in San Marcos on December 17. The Ragin' Cajuns led at halftime and held multiple leads in the fourth quarter before the Bobcats made a late push in the final two minutes.
UL has won six of the last seven meetings with Texas State at the Cajundome dating back to the 2019-20 season.
The current homestand for UL started with a 97-56 win over Dillard on December 29 but three straight SBC losses have followed including a heartbreaking 61-51 decision to ULM on Thursday after leading for 35 minutes.
Freshman Amijah Price made it four straight games leading the Ragin' Cajuns in scoring with a game-high 18 points vs. ULM. She's averaged 21.8 points per game during the homestand.
The Ragin' Cajuns roster features the top two scoring freshmen in the SBC in Price (13.6 ppg) and Imani Daniel (11.5). Price has provided the Cajuns a boost off the bench in 14 of her 15 contests while Daniel leads in offensive (34) and defensive (61) rebounds and is on the verge of eclipsing 100 rebounds.
Texas State has dropped two straight since starting SBC play 2-0. The Bobcats are led in scoring by Saniya Burks (15.2 ppg) who generated 14 points in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback over Louisiana in the SBC opener.
