Louisiana Meets Coastal Carolina in Midweek Game at the Cajundome

Only matchup of the regular season between the Ragin’ Cajuns and Chanticleers

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Women's Basketball team returns to the Cajundome on Wednesday, January 21 to take on Coastal Carolina in a 6:00 p.m. Sun Belt Conference contest.
 
Wednesday's contest is designated as the annual "Louisiana Salutes" game with all fans encouraged to wear black.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns are opening a two-game, week-long homestand that also includes a Saturday afternoon contest with App State.
 
Live coverage of the season's only scheduled meeting with Coastal Carolina is available on ESPN+ and The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM.
 
Admission to Wednesday's contest – and all UL Women's Basketball games throughout the entire season – is free and open to the public. The Cajundome's clear bag policy and cashless concessions will be implemented.
 
Starting Wednesday with Coastal, the Ragin' Cajuns are beginning a stretch of five straight games against eastern-based SBC teams that runs through the February 4 game with Old Dominion at the Cajundome.
 
Louisiana (1-17, 0-8 SBC) is paced by a trio of players with 10 or more double-figure scoring games, led by Southern Miss transfer Mikaylah Manley who picked up her 11th such outing with a game-high tying 20 points at ULM. Freshmen Amijah Price (12.4) and Imani Daniel (11.4) are the leaders in scoring average with Manley (10.9) right alongside them.
 
Coastal Carolina (9-10, 2-5 SBC) ranks 16th nationally with 9.1 three-pointers per game and is among the SBC leaders in turnovers forced per game (19.8). Kristin Williams leads the team in scoring with 13.7 points per game.

  • Freshman Imani Daniel led the way averaging 20.5 point per game in exhibition action highlighted by a 19-point, 15-rebound double-double vs. LSU-A.
  • Garry Brodhead is the program's all-time winningest head coach and the only head coach to reach both 100 and 200 victories. His career record entering Wednesday's game stands at 216-198.
