WBB Mikaylah Manley Brings Ball Up Court vs. ULM 01.08.26

Ragin’ Cajuns Fall in Rematch with Warhawks

1/17/2026 3:18:00 PM | Women's Basketball

ULM took charge early and completed season sweep of Louisiana

MONROE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team found themselves chasing points early on as ULM scored the game's first 11 points and never looked back in capturing a 102-58 win on Saturday, January 17 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe.

Mikaylah Manley's jumper at 6:12 put Louisiana (1-17, 0-8 SBC) on the board and moments later it was Stephanie Mosley converting a driving layup at 4:50 to bring the Warhawks lead back to single digits at 12-4.

Over the next three minutes, though, ULM (8-9, 3-5 SBC) would push the lead back into double figures for good with a 9-0 scoring run and advanced the lead to 25-7 before the first period expired.

The Warhawks started the second quarter with a Nakiyah Mays-Prince triple then the Ragin' Cajuns defense kept them off the board for three minutes allowing the team's offense to begin chipping away at the lead. Lily Ba's layup at 9:07 was the start of a 7-0 run by Louisiana that was capped off by Kahlen Norris' three-pointer at 6:57 which sliced the ULM advantage down to 28-14.

Two Amijah Price free throws one minute later kept it a 14-point margin at 30-16 but the Warhawks rebounding advantage and pressure defense took over to deliver the knockout blow at the Ragin' Cajuns chances for a comeback.

The Warhawks reeled off a 10-0 run keyed by a pair of second-chance baskets plus two scores off of UL miscues to advance the lead to 40-16 by the 2:42 mark. The lead remained above 20 for the rest of the contest, growing to 48-23 at halftime.

Starting with an answer-back triple by Mosely and pull-up jumper by Manley at 8:18, Louisiana closed the gap to 51-28 early in the third quarter. ULM stretched the margin back out with Mays-Prince connecting on triples at 7:56 and 7:32 to forge ahead 57-28.

Mosely's driving layup at 7:06 was UL's third consecutive field goal make before the Warhawks took complete control of the second half with a 17-2 run that extended the lead to 74-32 with 2:35 remaining in the third quarter.

The Ragin' Cajuns closed with their highest scoring quarter, totaling 19 points in the fourth quarter. The charge to the finish line was keyed by 11 points over the final 1:52 with Manley and Price combining for nine points.

Saturday's win allowed ULM to the sweep the season series between the two in-state Sun Belt Conference foes.
