Louisiana to Host Bowling Green in MAC-SBC Challenge, November 3

LAFAYETTE – The November matchups for the 2025-26 women's basketball season MAC-SBC Challenge were announced on Tuesday (July 1, 2025), with Louisiana hosting Bowling Green on Monday, November 3.

Tipoff time for the Ragin' Cajuns-Falcons contest at the Cajundome in Lafayette will be announced at a later date. It'll mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

The game marks the regular season opener for Louisiana (13-16, 9-9 SBC in 2024-25) which will be beginning its 14th season under the direction of head coach Garry Brodhead.

The MAC-SBC Challenge, a scheduling alliance in the sports of men's and women's basketball between the Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference, enters its third season after being extended two additional years through the 2026-27 season. Each MAC and Sun Belt team included in the MAC-SBC Challenge is guaranteed one home and one away game.

The second MAC-SBC Challenge contest of the 2025-26 season takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, with the matchups set based on real-time NET rankings and announced in January.

The MAC women and Sun Belt men will host the February matchups.

The Ragin' Cajuns split matchups with Kent State (home) and Central Michigan (away) during the inaugural year of the event held in the 2023-24 season and fell short against Northern Illinois (away) and Miami University (home) by a combined three points in the 2024-25 season.

It's the second straight season that Louisiana opens play with the MAC-SBC Challenge. The Cajuns seek their first home win in the MAC-SBC Challenge.
