Louisiana Women Receive SBC Tournament Assignment

Ragin’ Cajuns draw the No. 7 seed; begin play on Thursday, March 6

NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team received the No. 7 seed in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament, the conference office announced on Friday night as the seedings and matchups were released following the conclusion of the regular season. 
 
The SBC Women's Basketball Tournament takes place from Tuesday-Monday, March 4-10 at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla., with all 14 Sun Belt institutions competing in the single-elimination tournament.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns (13-15, 9-9 SBC) spot at No. 7 in the bracket affords the squad two byes in the seven-day event, advancing them to the third round which occurs on Thursday, March 6.
 
Louisiana will officially begin SBC Tournament play at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (March 6) against the survivor of games involving No. 14 seed South Alabama, No. 11 seed Marshall and No. 10 seed Texas State, with the winner of the contest moving to the fourth round to meet App State on Friday (March 7).
 
It's the fifth straight season the SBC's postseason event is held in Pensacola. UL has advanced to the semifinals three of the previous four trips, including last season's run. The Cajuns last played for the title in 2021.

The women's first-round games take place on Tuesday, March 4 with second-round contests on Wednesday, March 5. The women's quarterfinals take place Saturday, March 8 with semifinals on Sunday, March 9. The championship game is set for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10 on ESPN2.
