Ragin' Cajuns host Seahawks in Saturday matinee

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns return home for the final time before taking final exams next week when it plays host to Coastal Athletic Association member UNCW on Saturday at the Cajundome.
 
Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. The game will be available on ESPN+ with fans able to listen to the game locally on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide on the Varsity Network app.
 
Fans are encouraged to donate a new Teddy Bear or stuffed animal for the annual "Teddy Bear Toss" at halftime. Fans can also donate to Toys for Tots. All toys will be donated to Faith House. Each fan who donates will receive 25 percent off on simulator play from Loft18.
 
Louisiana (1-8) looks to get back into the win column for the first time since November 7 when it defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 58-52. The Ragin' Cajuns got an early spark from their perimeter game on Wednesday at Lamar before dropping a 65-55 contest in Beaumont.
 
Jaxon Olvera led Louisiana with 11 points with Dorian Finister and Dariyus Woodson scoring nine points each. Olvera and Finister each pulled down six boards to lead the Ragin' Cajuns.
 
UNCW (8-1), ranked No. 15 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll, increased its win streak to seven games with a 70-69 win over Marshall on Wednesday. The Seahawks began their win streak on November 15 with a 73-60 win over USC Upstate and have defeated East Carolina, Radford, SLU, Navy and Gardner-Webb.
 
Nolan Hodge's 15.6 points per game leads four UNCW players in double figures with Patrick Wessler (12.7), Madison Durr (12.3) and Christian May (11.4) next.

• Louisiana returns home for its fourth contest of the season at the Cajundome hosting Coastal Athletic Association member UNCW in a non-conference clash.
• The meeting with the Seahawks is the third all-time between the schools with both teams claiming victories on their home floors.
• The Ragin' Cajuns are 1-0 against common opponents with UNCW after claiming a 58-52 win over Southeastern Louisiana on November 7.
• Louisiana is 4-1 all-time against current members of the CAA, including wins over Campbell and Drexel.
