Louisiana closes out West Coast trip against Big West Aggies
DAVIS, Calif. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team closes out its three-game trip to the West Coast on Monday when it faces UC Davis at the University Credit Union Center.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on ESPN+ with fans able to listen to the game in the Lafayette area on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide on the Varsity Network app.
Looking to halt a four-game losing streak, Louisiana (1-5) faces UC Davis (4-2) for the first time on the hardwood and the first against a Big West Conference opponent since a 92-82 victory over Long Beach State in the 2023 Gulf Coast Showcase.
Louisiana dropped an 80-43 contest at Santa Clara on Friday with Dorian Finister leading the Ragin' Cajuns with 16 points. Finister and Daryius Woodson pulled down five rebounds each to lead Louisiana
Jaxon Olvera leads Louisiana in scoring at 13.2 points per game with Finister next at 12.5.
UC Davis returns home after splitting a pair of road games against Nevada and Colorado. The Aggies, who are 3-0 at home this season, opened with home wins over Menlo (Calif.), North Dakota State and rival Sacramento State.
Nils Cooper's 17.6 points per game leads four players averaging in double figures for the Aggies with Connor Sevilla (14.5), Marcus Wilson (11.8), and Isaiah Chappell (10.2). Niko Rocak leads UC Davis with 5.8 rebounds per game with Brayden Fagbemi averaging 5.5 assists per contest.
Louisiana returns home after its West Coast trip to face Jackson State on Friday (November 28) in a 7 p.m. game at the Cajundome.
