Ragin' Cajuns host Green Wave in "Black Out" game at Cajundome

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team looks to build on the momentum from its home-opening win when it hosts in-state rival Tulane on Tuesday in the annual "Louisiana Salutes" and "Black Out" game at the Cajundome.
 
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., with live coverage on ESPN+. Fans in the Lafayette area can tune in on 103.3-FM The Goat/1420-AM, or listen worldwide on the Varsity Network app. Tickets are available at RaginCajuns.com/tickets.
 
Louisiana (1-1) continues a stretch of three consecutive games against in-state opponents after opening its home schedule Friday with a 58-52 win over Southeastern Louisiana, giving first-year head coach and New Orleans native Quannas White his first career victory.
 
Jaxon Olvera led the Ragin' Cajuns with a game-high 20 points, while Jamyron Keller added 13 and Dorian Finister chipped in 12. Louisiana never trailed in the game and held the Lions to 33.3 percent shooting (15-for-45) from the field.
 
Through two games, Keller leads the team with 17.0 points per game, followed by Olvera at 16.5 points and a team-best 5.5 rebounds per contest. Defensively, the Cajuns have allowed just 63.5 points per game, ranking third in the Sun Belt Conference.
 
Tulane (2-0), led by former Georgia State head coach Ron Hunter, visits Lafayette for the first time since the 2009-10 season. The Green Wave opened with an 85-72 win over Samford before downing Texas State, 79-71, on Saturday.
 
The Green Wave features four players averaging double figures: Rowan Brumbaugh (22.5), Asher Woods (13.5), Tyler Ringgold (12.0) and Curtis Williams Jr. (12.0). Tulane has been nearly perfect at the foul line, converting 42 of 43 free throws (97.7 percent) through its first two games to lead the nation, while averaging 82.0 points per game.
