Louisiana gets another trial run before the regular season opener arrives next week

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team gets another opportunity to fine tune its play ahead of next Monday's regular season opener when the second exhibition of the preseason takes place on Tuesday, October 28 at the Cajundome.

The Ragin' Cajuns are welcoming Mississippi College to the Cajundome for the exhibition contest which tips off at 6:00 p.m.

Admission to Tuesday's exhibition game – and all UL Women's Basketball games throughout the entire season – is free and open to the public.

No television or radio coverage is available. Live stats will be available at CajunStats.StatBroadcast.com.

Louisiana and Mississippi College last met in an exhibition setting on November 5, 2021, a game that the Ragin' Cajuns won 58-47 and led by as much as 20 points in the fourth quarter.

Tuesday's matchup with the Choctaws is the second and final exhibition for the Ragin' Cajuns prior to the 2025-26 season opener on Monday, November 3 at the Cajundome vs. Bowling Green in the MAC-SBC Challenge.

It's yet another opportunity for a Ragin' Cajuns group that's entirely new to the program – the roster consisting of eight transfers and three freshmen – to experience a game atmosphere inside the Cajundome.

UL kicked off preseason play last Thursday (Oct. 23) with a resounding 92-47 win over LSU-Alexandria. The Ragin' Cajuns scored 20-plus every quarter and shot 45 percent (35-of-77), doubling the field makes LSUA recorded (17-of-51).

Junior transfer Mikaylah Manley and freshman Imani Daniel scored 19 points apiece to lead a group of five Ragin' Cajuns who scored in double figures. Bianca Silva (13), Stephanie Mosley (13) and Amijah Price also recorded double digits. Daniel added 15 rebounds to notch a double-double in her first collegiate action.

Mississippi College, picked seventh in the 2025-26 Gulf South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, is also taking the court for an exhibition for the second time over a six-day span. The Choctaws fell 148-46 to No. 5 LSU on Thursday, October 23 in Baton Rouge.

ABOUT LOUISIANA
The 2025-26 season marks the 14th season with head coach Garry Brodhead leading the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball program. Brodhead, the program's winningest and only head coach to reach both 100 and 200 victories (215-181 career record), has led UL to a winning record in nine of the past 11 seasons.

Last season the Ragin' Cajuns (13-16, 9-9 SBC) continued to turn out the Sun Belt's top scoring defense, finishing as the league leader for the third consecutive season. The league's Newcomer of the Year suited up for Louisiana with Erica Lafayette, who led the team averaging 14.5 points, claiming the honor.

Louisiana reloaded its roster with players that compliment Brodhead's trademark style of speed, shooting and pressing. The veterans are highlighted by SBC transfers Mikaylah Manley (Southern Miss), Jazmyne Jackson (Georgia Southern) and Tulane transfer Lily Ba while the highly touted freshman class of Louisiana products including Imani Daniel, Arionna Patterson and Amijah Price – all rated Top 10 prospects from the state – makes its debut.
