Ragin’ Cajuns and Trojans open the next chapter of their storied rivalry

TROY, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team makes its final stop on this week's road trip on Saturday, January 18 in Troy, Alabama, facing the Troy Trojans at 3:30 p.m. in Trojan Arena.

Louisiana (8-7, 4-2 SBC) completes Round 1 of a series of four games solely against Arkansas State and Troy. Next week, the Red Wolves and Trojans visit the Cajundome from January 23-25.

The Ragin' Cajuns look to rebound from Wednesday's heartbreaking overtime loss to ASU in Jonesboro, falling on a last-second shot after rallying from a 20-point, first-half deficit to force the extra period.

UL seeks to catch the Trojans (11-7, 5-1 SBC) in the Sun Belt standings and remain near the top of the ledger.

It'll be the customary test of wills associated with a UL-Troy matchup, the Cajuns topping the SBC in scoring defense (60.0) and the Trojans having scored 80-plus in five straight games.

In SBC play, Louisiana has been led by Erica Lafayette's 18.2 points per game. Troy's spark has come from Zay Dyer, back-to-back SBC Player of the Week winner, who's averaging a double-double in conference games.
