The Ragin’ Cajuns had a strong start to the fall last weekend
TULSA, Oklahoma – The Louisiana men's tennis team looks to make noise at one of the biggest events in college tennis starting this weekend at the ITA All-American in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Returners Vasil Dimitrov, Oriol Fillat Gimenez, Calin Postea, and William Ribero are scheduled to compete for the Ragin' Cajuns. At last weekend's Youngsville Hidden Duals, the quartet all went 2-1 against Southern Miss, Tulane, and Tyler Junior College.
It's the second straight trip to the event for Dimitrov, Fillat Gimenez, and Ribero. Ribero earned a straight-set victory over Stefan Simeunovic of Penn State in the opening round of pre-qualifying. He fell in the second round in three sets to Sam Reeve of Memphis.
The Cajuns return to action next weekend at the Southern Miss Invitational beginning September 27 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
