Louisiana Wraps Up NCAA East Regionals in Lexington

The Ragin’ Cajuns ended the week with three bids to the national championships
LEXINGTON, Kentucky - The Louisiana track and field team finished off their week at the NCAA East Regional in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday.
Kimola Hines started the day in the discus with a throw of 153.9/46.86 on her final attempt, placing her 43rd overall. Kennedy Washington and Alaysha Veal both competed in the women's high jump, both clearing 5-7.25/1.71. Washington did so on the second try to place 40th while Veal placed 42nd after clearing it on her third try.
Coming off a school record-setting performance on Thursday, Moseiha Bridgen ran in the 400H quarterfinals. Her time of 59.31 placed her 22nd in the region in Louisiana's final event of the day.
The Cajuns are moving on to the national championships after qualifying yesterday in the men's 4x100, 400H, and triple jump. The NCAA National Championships begin June 5 from Eugene, Oregon.
