Jones Advances to 400H Quarterfinals on First Night in Lexington

The senior set a PR at 49.98
LEXINGTON, Kentucky - Javed Jones is moving on to the NCAA Quarterfinals in the 400H after the first day of action at the NCAA East Regional in Lexington, Kentucky.
Jones was the second-fastest in the first round, running a personal best time of 49.98, improving on his third-fastest time in program history. The only competitor to best Jones on the night was defending national champion Chris Robinson of Alabama. Jones will run on Friday with a spot on the line in the national championships.
The night started with the 110H for the Cajuns, represented by Cole Palmer. He finished 39th at 14.24. The 100 saw a pair of Cajuns, Jamhad Booth and Trejun Jones. Booth placed 37th at 10.56 while Jones finished 43rd with a time of 10.64. Zakhy Munro closed the night for Louisiana with a 36th-place finish in the 200 with a time of 21.05.
The Ragin' Cajuns are back at it tomorrow with the first day of women's events. They'll start the day with the hammer at 9 a.m. before moving onto track events in the afternoon.
