Cajuns Comeback to Beat Bobcats in San Marcos

Louisiana earned their fifth road win of the year
SAN MARCOS, Texas - Traveling to San Marcos for the first time since 2019, the Louisiana women's tennis team came away victorious over Texas State in a 4-3 thriller. The Cajuns won singles matches on courts four, five, and six to outlast the Bobcats in four hours and 15 minutes.
Going with a different doubles lineup than usual, the Cajuns took the point. Jenaila Prulla and Carla Urchoeguia put Louisiana out in front with a 6-2 win on court two. The Bobcats bounced back and took it on court one but the Cajuns clutched it out on three with a 6-4 win by Karolina Skowronska and Cristina Tchanichev.
Skowronska carried that momentum into singles and pulled out a win on court six, 6-2, 7-5. Angelique Berrat tied the match at two with a win on four, her fifth in a row. The Bobcats answered with wins on courts one and two to put everything on court five. Nina Krecklenberg fought to force a third set and eventually won, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the match.
Louisiana wraps up the regular season next Saturday at South Alabama with first serve scheduled for 10 a.m.
