RAGIN' CAJUNS WEEKLY NOTES
• Louisiana extended its win streak to 11 games – the longest current streak nationally and one shy of a 12-game win streak set in 2016.
• Louisiana and Nebraska (10) are the lone schools with current win streaks of 10 games or more.
• Since posting an 0-3 record in the Astros Foundation College Classic at Houston's Minute Maid Park, Louisiana posted a 15-2 record to close out the month of March.
• Louisiana extended its SBC win streak to eight games after completing a three-game sweep at Texas State on Saturday. The Ragin' Cajuns opened with a 4-1 win on Thursday before claiming a 16-5 win on Friday and come-from-behind 7-6 win on Saturday.
• The sweep for the Ragin' Cajuns was the first-ever against the SBC rival Bobcats in San Marcos.
• The 7-6 win on Saturday marked Louisiana's fourth win this season when trailing after seven innings. The Ragin' Cajuns trailed 4-2 before scoring five runs in the eighth.
• The Ragin' Cajuns improved to 8-1 in Sun Belt Conference play for the third time overall, posting identical nine-game league starts in 2000 (reached College World Series) and 2014 (hosted NCAA Super Regional).
• During its 11-game win streak, Louisiana is hitting at a .320 clip while holding opponents to a .188 average.
• The Louisiana pitching staff has posted a 2.65 team ERA during its 11-game streak with two shutouts and six saves.
• In Sun Belt Conference play, seven regulars in the lineup are hitting .300 or above led by John Taylor (.351). Kyle DeBarge (.333), Duncan Pastore (.333), Conor Higgs (.333), Josh Alexander (.333), Lee Amedee (.313) and Jose Torres (.303) have started all nine games in league play.
• Taylor is currently on a 16-game hit streak, the longest by a Louisiana hitter since Orynn Veillon hit in 19 straight games in 2019. Taylor has reached base safely in 27 consecutive games dating back to Game Two of Opening Weekend against Wright State (Feb. 17).
