Louisiana Welcomes Coastal Carolina to Open SBC Play

The Ragin’ Cajuns have won four matches in a row and six of seven overall
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana - Winners of six of their last seven matches, the red-hot Louisiana men's tennis team is set to open Sun Belt Conference play against Coastal Carolina on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Cajun Courts.
In their last match, the Cajuns defeated then-No. 56 Charlotte, 4-3. Sacha Grandvincent, Vasil Dimitrov, and Oriol Fillat Gimenez each secured singles wins, with Grandvincent winning the clinching point. Grandvincent and partner Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez picked up a 6-2 doubles win on court one while William Ribero and Mason Landreth won their match, 7-5, on court three.
For his efforts, Grandvincent was named the SBC Player of the Week. The freshman has been a force of late, winning his last three singles and three doubles matches for the Cajuns, who have won four straight contests as a team.
Coastal Carolina is currently 4-5 on the year after defeating Davidson, 4-0, their last time out. The Chanticleers are currently 3-1 in their last four matches, with their only defeat coming at the hands of Charlotte. They open SBC play at Southern Miss today in Hattiesburg, Mississippi before making the trip to Lafayette.
The Cajuns return to action on Saturday against South Florida with first serve scheduled for 11 a.m. from Cajun Courts.
