Trio of Cajuns Named to All-SBC Team

Kobe Julien, Joe Charles, and Hosana Kitenge were all honored by the SBC on Monday
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – The Louisiana men's basketball team landed three players on the All-Sun Belt Conference Team announced by the league on Monday.
Kobe Julien earned a spot on the second team after leading Louisiana in scoring at 17.2 points per game. Joe Charles and Hosana Kitenge were named the third team after sensational seasons.
Julien was a dynamic scorer for the Cajuns and finished second in the league, behind Player of the Year Terrance Edwards Jr. During the season, the junior reached the 1,000-point plateau, becoming the 51st player in program history to do so. Back in November he set a career-high with a 30-point performance against Buffalo and finished the year with 10 games with 20 or more points.
Charles was one of the best in the conference on both ends of the floor. The junior ended the year with 11 double-doubles, third most in the league, and averaged a double-double in conference play at 12.1 points and 10.7 rebounds. The Carencro native was among the league leaders in steals (57) and blocks (35) while finishing second in rebounds with 302. He scored 20 or more points four times including a career-high 26 at Southern Miss in the team's final road game.
Kitenge got better as the season went on for Louisiana. He was second on the team in scoring and rebounding during conference play at 13.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. The junior recorded five double-doubles including a monster 23-point, 17-rebound performance at App State. Once the calendar flipped to 2024, Kitenge scored in double figures in all but one game and grabbed at least five rebounds in all but one game.
