Ragin’ Cajuns Fall at No. 53 ODU on Friday

The Cajuns wrap up their road schedule tomorrow at James Madison
NORFOLK, Virginia - In a battle between two nationally ranked programs, the No. 74 Louisiana men's tennis team fell to No. 53 Old Dominion, 4-0, on Friday in Norfolk, Virginia.
The Monarchs took the first doubles match on court two before Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez and Sacha Grandvincent won their match on court one, 6-3, to tie things up. Over on court three, Alejo Ferrer Chueca and Oriol Fillat Gimenez fought to a tiebreaker in the third set but the Monarchs pulled it out, 7-6 (7-3), to take the doubles point.
In singles, the home side took the contests on two and three to go ahead 3-0 but the Cajuns continued to fight. Sanchez Gonzalez led big in the third set while Samuel Kyjaci and Fillat Gimenez fought to a third set in their matches. Looking to extend the match, Vasil Dimitrov went to a second-set tiebreaker on court four. There he was bested, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), and the Monarchs clinched the match, leaving the other three unfinished.
The Cajuns take on James Madison tomorrow at 9 a.m. in Harrisonburg, Virginia in their final road match of the season.
