The Ragin’ Cajuns close a three-match home swing before hitting the road
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana- The Louisiana women's tennis team looks to earn a crucial early-season Sun Belt Conference victory as they host Coastal Carolina on Monday at 10 a.m. at Cajun Courts.

On Friday, the Ragin' Cajuns dropped to 1-1 in conference action after falling to Georgia Southern, 4-1. The Cajuns earned their third straight doubles point victory in the match before the Eagles took control in singles play.Â

Nina Krecklenberg and Kamea Medora won their third straight match as partners on Friday and remain undefeated as a duo. Paige Duncan and Jenaila Prulla improved to 2-0 as a pairing after a 7-5 on Friday playing on court two. As a team, Louisiana is 11-9 this season in doubles.

Carla Urchoeguia continues to lead the team in singles with five wins, all coming on court one. Cristina Tchanichev has a 4-2 record on court two for the second-most wins on the squad. The team is a combined 23-19 on the year in singles and is over .500 at every court except court three this year.

Coastal Carolina had a four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday in a tough 4-3 loss at Texas State. For the spring they are 6-5 overall and 1-1 in SBC action, defeating Georgia State on March 10. They are led by strong doubles play, combining for a 21-8 record. The duo of Jesse Hollins and Anna Babayan are 9-1 on the year, playing on court one. Cecile Morin leads the team in singles with seven victories.

Next weekend the Cajuns hit the road to start a four-game trip. They open the week at James Madison on Saturday.Â
