Louisiana (5-4) will return to action on Saturday when it faces in-state rival and No. 3-ranked LSU (9-1) in a 7 p.m. game which will be televised live on MLB Network with fans also able to watch on Astros.com and the Astros' X, Facebook and YouTube pages.

The Ragin' Cajuns scored three runs in the fourth inning to break a scoreless contest after Kyle DeBarge drew a one-out walk off Vanderbilt starter Carter Horton. Duncan Pastore would follow with a double to left before Caleb Stelly's infield single scored DeBarge for a 1-0 lead.

Clay Wargo added a bunt up the first-base line to plate Pastore from third and John Taylor would follow with a hit that caromed off of Horton and allowed Stelly to score for a 3-0 lead.

Vanderbilt (8-3) added a pair of runs in the fifth on RJ Austin's RBI single and a double by Camden Kozeal before Calvin Hewitt's RBI triple in the fifth tied the game at 3-3.

The Commodores broke the contest in the eighth with three straight hits off Louisiana reliever Jack Martinez (0-2) with Austin doubling to center, Kozeal getting a single to right and Espinal hitting a 3-and-2 pitch for his first home run of the season.

Davis Diaz scored in the eighth for the Commodores when he moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a throwing error.

Louisiana battled back after pinch-hitter Mason Zambo led off with a walk and moved to second in Taylor's bunt single. Conor Higgs reached on a one-out infield single to load the bases before Zambo scored on Josh Alexander's single up the first base line.

Vanberbilt's Miller Green, who recorded his first save, then got Bryan Broussard, Jr., on a called third strike before getting DeBarge to fly out to left-center to close out the game.

Greysen Carter (1-0) pitched 3.0 innings and struck out four to earn the win for the Commodores. Holton pitched 5.0 innings with six strikeouts and four hits allowed while Austin led VU's 10-hit attack with three hits.

LP Langevin, making his first career start for Louisiana, fanned six batters and scattered three hits in 4.2 innings for Louisiana. Taylor led the Ragin' Cajuns at the plate going 2-for-4.
