Ragin’ Cajuns Set to Face League-Leading Thundering Herd

Louisiana and Marshall will tip at 10 a.m. CT on ESPN+
HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – Louisiana women's basketball travels to take on the league-leading Marshall Thundering Herd on Wednesday morning as it continues its four-game road trip.
Tipoff for the second all-time meeting between Louisiana (9-11, 5-6 SBC) and Marshall (16-6, 9-1 SBC) is scheduled for 10 a.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with radio coverage in the Lafayette area on The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM and The Varsity Network worldwide.
The Ragin' Cajuns are coming off a 19-point victory, 73-52, at ULM on Saturday, marking their largest margin of victory against a Division I opponent this season. Brandi Williams led the way as she tallied 15 points while Destiny Rice added 12 while snagging seven rebounds. Tamera Johnson dished out a career-high six assists while recording seven points and five rebounds.
Louisiana jumped out early on the Warhawks and kept the lead for the entire game. The bench played a pivotal role, scoring 38 of Louisiana's 73 points while the Cajuns doubled up ULM in the paint, 28-14.
Marshall enters the fray atop the conference standings and are led by Abby Beeman (16.5 points per game), Breanna Campbell (15.4 ppg) and Aislynn Hayes (14.4). The Thundering Herd are looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss in conference play, a 72-63 defeat against James Madison.
Wednesday's contest marks the second time the two teams have faced off with the lone meeting occurring on Jan. 5, 1985, in Orlando, Florida.
