Louisiana is scheduled for three matches over two days
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana - For the first time this spring Louisiana men's tennis fans will get the chance to catch the Cajuns as they host their Winter Classic beginning Friday at Cajun Courts. Louisiana is slated to play three matches over two days.
The Cajuns open the weekend with UTRGV. The Vaqueros have had a busy spring, going 3-4 so far this season, including a 4-3 win over Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, who the Cajuns will also face on Friday.
The Islanders have off to a strong start to 2024, going 6-0 before their loss to the Vaqueros. Louisiana has won five of the last six in the series, including a pair of victories over the Islanders last season. The Cajuns close the weekend against UT Arlington on Saturday. The Mavs are 2-1 this season, winning their last two after dropping the season opener to Oklahoma.
Louisiana looks for their first win of the spring in their return to their home courts. Last weekend they went east for the ITA National Championships, falling to No. 19 Georgia and Auburn in the event comprised of the top 75 programs in the country.
