Cajuns Head to Monroe for SBC Series

MONROE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team takes a road trip to north Louisiana, traveling to Monroe for a two-match Sun Belt Conference series with ULM at Fant-Ewing Coliseum from Thursday-Friday, November 7-8.

UL is scheduled to meet the Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. both nights. Live video coverage of both matches is available on ESPN+.

The matchup against ULM (4-20, 0-12 SBC) marks the final division contests in SBC play for Louisiana (6-15, 2-8 SBC) in the 2024 season.

Graduate middle block Cami Hicks enters the two-match series with a new personal single-season best 111 blocks, continuing her chase of the program's single-season rally era record (129 by Clarice Laires in 2001).

Louisiana takes in its final road matches and final set of SBC West Division matches of the 2024 season while in Monroe to face ULM at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
The Ragin' Cajuns have had the upper hand against the Warhawks since 2019, winning the last 12 matchups.
UL continues a season-ending, three-week stretch where all matches are within the state's borders. Next week, the Cajuns return to E.K. Long to host Georgia Southern.
Louisiana's defense has been a strong suit and has carried over into conference play, the squad ranking in or near the Top 5 in blocks and digs in conference matches.
Libero Mio Yamamoto has clinched her second straight 400-plus digs campaign, meanwhile graduate middle block Cami Hicks, at 111 blocks, is chasing the rally era single season mark (129, Clarice Laires in 2001).
Louisiana has played through 450 ties and 172 lead changes this season, lending to a deceiving record.
Currently at 463 career blocks, Cami Hicks is the program's rally scoring era leader in career blocks and is the only Ragin' Cajun to reach 400 career blocks in the rally era.
Cami Hicks, the SBC leader in blocks per set in non-conference play, has maintained her lead (1.4/set).
Led by Cami Hicks' 2.1 blocks per set (17 total), Louisiana threw up an average of 3.5 blocks per set (28 total) at Troy – out-blocking the Trojans 28-7 in the series.
Cailin Demps found her footing the final week of non-conference play, scoring 45 kills (3.5/set). She enters the ULM series with 234 kills, a new personal single-season best (topping 192 as a freshman at Southern Miss).
Libero Mio Yamamoto has posted ten 20-plus dig efforts this season and 20 total in the Cajuns uniform.
Lauryn Hill has joined Cailin Demps in charging the offense in SBC play, her 99 kills right behind Demps' 100.
The Cajuns entered the season shorthanded, without the services of all-conference setter Siena DeCambra (season-ending injury) and a 300-200 kills-digs performer Shyia Richardson sidelined with injury.
Mio Yamamoto represented Louisiana on the 2024 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference Volleyball team. Yamamoto was selected the Preseason SBC Libero of the Year; she claimed the award in 2023.

UP NEXT FOR LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns conclude the 2024 season and their home schedule from Thursday-Friday, November 14-15 hosting Georgia Southern at E.K. Long Gym.

Louisiana will be celebrating Senior Weekend during the series with the Eagles. Recognition of the 2024 senior class will be held prior to the start of Friday's match.
