Woodlawn’s Amijah Price is third Louisiana-based prep star to lock in with the Ragin’ Cajuns

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball head coach Garry Brodhead announced on Thursday (Nov. 21, 2024) the addition of a third student-athlete to the program's list of Class of 2025 recruits.

Signing with the Ragin' Cajuns during the early National Signing Period was 5-foot-8 guard Amijah Price of Woodlawn High School who Prep Girl Hoops rates as the No. 2 prospect in the state of Louisiana.

Price joins fellow state of Louisiana Top 10 recruits Arionna Patterson (Baton Rouge, La./Walker HS) and Imani Daniel (Gramercy, La./John Curtis Christian School) in having signed on to join UL for the 2025-26 season.

Described as an athlete with high level playmaking and scoring ability, Price showcased those talents last spring averaging 26 points per game in the LHSAA Division I Select State Tournament. She led Woodlawn's efforts in the championship game, scoring 19 points and tallying 10 rebounds.

Price was selected to the LHSAA Division I Marsh Madness All-Tournament team, capping off her list of junior season accolades that included all-state, all-metro, first team all-district and district MVP honors.

Woodlawn's reigning Scoring Queen Award winner, Price headed into her senior season having already achieved the 1,000-career points milestone. She plays club basketball for CyFair Elite EYBL.

"Amijah (Price) is one of the elite guards in the state," Brodhead said. "Our coaching staff believes her ability to score at all three levels will be exactly what we want in a player.

"We are very excited about our 2025 class," Brodhead added. "They're all among the top players in Louisiana."

Louisiana, currently in its 13th season led by Brodhead, was picked fifth in the Sun Belt Conference's preseason poll and is coming off a fifth straight winning season, which marks the longest stretch in program history, highlighted by capturing the 200th win of the Brodhead era and making a run to the semifinals of the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament.
