Ragin’ Cajuns newest additions both among state’s Top 10-rated prospects

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball head coach Garry Brodhead announced on Thursday (Nov. 14, 2024) the signing of two student-athletes for the 2025-26 season, both rated as Top 10 prospects within the state of Louisiana.

Inking with the Ragin' Cajuns at the start of the early National Signing Period are 5-foot-11 forward Arionna Patterson of Walker High School and 5-foot-9 guard Imani Daniel of John Curtis Christian School.

Patterson is ranked No. 5 by Prep Girls Hoops and No. 8 by Louisiana Girls in the Class of 2025 recruits from Louisiana. A three-time All-Parish honoree, she is coming off an All-District performance in 2023-24.

While at Walker HS, Patterson has increased her scoring each year rising to 10.0 points per game as a junior. She's scored 200-plus all three varsity seasons, is a career 49 percent field goal shooter and has rounded up 300-plus rebounds and 180-plus steals.

"Arionna (Patterson) brings a tremendous amount of talent to the court," Brodhead remarked. "Her ability to score, pass, as well as defend and rebound makes her a perfect player for our system."

Daniel is ranked No. 10 by Louisiana Girls in its Class of 2025 recruits from Louisiana. She's the reigning LHSAA Division I Select State Tournament Most Outstanding Player, having led tradition-rich John Curtis Christian School to the 2024 state championship.

A first team All-District selection, All-Metro and All-State performer, Daniel's championship season in 2023-24 was capped off by a 17-point performance in the state title game that included 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals.

As a member of the Cy Fair Elite 17 U Nike EYBL squad, Daniel and her teammates captured a national championship in Chicago in summer 2024. She was the only player on the team from the state of Louisiana that included five Top 100 players.

"Imani is one of the most versatile players in the state," Brodhead stated. "We're impressed with her scoring ability, as well as her ability to rebound.

"We are very excited about our Class of 2025 signees," Brodhead added. "Both are top players in Louisiana who can play multiple positions."

Louisiana, currently in its 13th season led by Brodhead, was picked fifth in the Sun Belt Conference's preseason poll and is coming off a fifth straight winning season, which marks the longest stretch in program history, highlighted by capturing the 200th win of the Brodhead era and making a run to the semifinals of the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament.
