Louisiana Wraps Up Robert Platt Invitational with Four Top 10s

The Cajuns head to Boston next weekend
HOUSTON, Texas - The Louisiana track and field team finished the weekend at the Robert Platt Invitational, picking up four top-10 finishes.
Louisiana had a pair in the top 10 in the pole vault. Freshman Teodor Borgius took sixth place with a jump of 16 feet 0.75 inches. Teammate Nick Russell took eighth after clearing 15 feet 7 inches.
Taylor Walls had the highest finish of the day for the Cajuns, placing fourth in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet 8.75 inches. A day after placing fourth in the triple jump, Reem Tammam finished 20th in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet 8.25 inches.
Joseph Patterson placed eighth in the 800-meter with a 1:53.33. Seven other Cajuns competed in the event, with two others in the top 25. Peyton Chiasson finished 17th with a 1:56.08 and Andrew Leck clocked in with a 1:56.41 to finish 21st.
In the shot put, the Cajuns had good performances on both the men's and women's sides. For the men Praiyer Jones' throw of 50 feet 1.75 inches took home 12th. Jaydan Jackson's throw of 44 feet 2.75 inches was good enough to place 13th for the women.
Other top 20 performances include Isabelle Russell (5:09.41, 15th) and Juliana Courville (5:09.75, 17th) in the mile. Haley Salsbury (2:20.89) and Skylar Delgado (2:21.13) finished back-to-back in the 800-meter, taking 18th and 19th place. Federico Bovo took 15th in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet 6 inches.
The Cajuns head to Boston next weekend for a pair of meets. They'll open the weekend with the Harvard Crimson Elite Meet on Friday, February 2.
