Cajuns Baseball Ranked Tops For Sun Belt Team GPA

Twenty-eight players named to SBC Commissioner's List/Academic Honor Roll
NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team secured the top cumulative grade point average among the Sun Belt Conference's 14 baseball playing schools during the 2022-23 academic year, as the league office released its Academic Awards on Wednesday.

Twenty-eight players on the 2023 squad were recognized on the SBC Commissioner's List or Academic Honor Roll. Senior Jake Hammond, who was named to the Commissioner's List, was also one of 140 SBC student-athletes named to the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award.

During the 2022-23 academic year, Louisiana posted a 3.274 cumulative team GPA to lead all SBC Baseball programs.

Louisiana, which finished 41-24 last season and earned a second consecutive berth in the NCAA Baseball Regionals, will officially open fall practice on Monday (Oct. 2) at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
