Ragin’ Cajuns travel out-of-state only once in season’s first two months
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team announced its 2023-24 non-conference schedule on Monday (Sept. 18, 2023), highlighted by all but one of nine regular season games prior to New Year's Day held within the state's borders including a trip to Baton Rouge to face reigning national champion LSU.
In non-conference play, Louisiana will play six of its 10 countable non-conference contests at the Cajundome, beginning with the season opener on November 6 vs. Spring Hill College.
UL travels to Auburn on November 9 for the only trip out-of-state in the first two months of the season.
Upon returning from Auburn, seven of the next nine playing dates will be on Louisiana's home court.
UL closes out November at the Cajundome with a MAC-SBC Challenge game vs. Kent State (Nov. 12), followed by a meeting with Nicholls (Nov. 18), and then back-to-back exhibition games on Nov. 21 vs. Xavier (La.) and Nov. 27 vs. Loyola (La.).
December starts with in-state trips to New Orleans (Dec. 2) and LSU (Dec. 10) – the only road games after the Nov. 9 Auburn matchup.
The final lead-up to Sun Belt Conference play is a three-game homestand in mid-December that starts December 13 vs. Lamar and concludes with the annual Education Game on December 19 vs. LSU-Shreveport.
In February, Louisiana officially closes non-conference play by completing the MAC-SBC Challenge on the road on February 10. The matchup, hosted by a MAC school and based on real-time NET rankings, will be announced in January.
Admission to all Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball games throughout the entire season is free and open to the public.
