Louisiana Women’s Basketball Announces 2023-24 Sun Belt Matchups

Cajuns set for home-and-home matchups with west side of league, first meeting with Marshall
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball and the Sun Belt Conference released the 2023-24 conference schedule on Tuesday (August 8), unveiling the matchups and dates of the Ragin' Cajuns 18-game league slate.
Louisiana's schedule features home-and-home matchups with each of the six teams from the western region of the conference: Arkansas State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas State, Troy and ULM. From the eastern region, the Ragin' Cajuns face all teams except Georgia State and meet Marshall in SBC play for the first time.
The Ragin' Cajuns open Sun Belt Conference play at home during New Year's Day weekend, hosting App State on Saturday, December 30 – the first of four Saturday games at the Cajundome in conference play.
In January, Louisiana is scheduled for a four-game road trip (ODU, JMU, Troy, Arkansas State) in the first half of the month, followed by a four-game homestand (ULM, Troy, Coastal Carolina, Texas State) during the final two weeks.
The second half of SBC play starts on February 1 when Louisiana visits Southern Miss for the start of a three-game road stretch that concludes on February 7 in Huntington, W.V., with the first-ever conference matchup with Marshall.
Beginning with a February 15-17 weekend set, against Georgia Southern and Arkansas State, the Ragin' Cajuns round out the regular season playing four of their final six games at the Cajundome closing out with the regular season finale on March 1 at home against Southern Miss.
The Sun Belt Conference Tournament will once again be held in Pensacola, Fla., scheduled for March 5-11 at the Pensacola Bay Center. All 14 teams qualify for the event.
Louisiana's non-conference matchups, tip times and TV designations will be released at a later date.
The SBC will officially kick things off for the 2023-24 season from Tuesday-Wednesday, October 17-18 with Basketball Media Days scheduled to take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. All 28 coaches between the men's and women's side will be present.
