Track and Field Re-Writes Record Books in Banner Outdoor Season

LAFAYETTE, LA – The record book looks brand new to the Louisiana track and field team after a big outdoor season. The Cajuns set five school records and posted 23 other top-five scores this spring.
The men's side finished third in the Sun Belt Conference, their best finish since 2017, and scored 134 points, their first time over 100 points since 2012. Maria Bienvenu claimed first place in the women's javelin, setting a meet record, with a throw of 52.87 meters. On the men's side, Javed Jones took home the SBC crown in the 400-meter hurdles while Jeremy Nelson won the long jump.
