The Cajuns won four events in their final regular season meet

STARKVILLE, MS – Saturday was another big day for the Louisiana track and field team at the Maroon and White Invitational in Starkville, Mississippi.  The Ragin' Cajuns saw one school record fall with Moseisha Bridgen's performance in the women's 400.

Bridgen ran the 400 in 53.62 seconds, winning the event and becoming the first woman in school history to break the 54-second mark.  That time also put her on top for the fastest time this spring in the Sun Belt Conference in the event.

Trejun Jones came up just 0.03 seconds shy of a school record of his own in the men's 100 meter.  His time of 10.22 was good enough to place second and was also the fastest time this season in the SBC.  Right behind him was teammate Jamhad Booth in third with a time of 10.43 seconds.

Loubert Dagrin continued his strong spring with a win in the men's 110 hurdles, finishing in 13.89 seconds.  Maria Bienvenu took home gold in the women's javelin with her throw of 51.91 meters putting her sixth in school history.  The men's 4x100 relay team also came home victorious with a time of 39.82, the sixth fastest in school history.

Other podium finishes for the Cajuns included Taylor Davis in the women's triple jump, 12.36 meters for second place, Laila Guy in the women's shot put, 13.41 meters for third place, and Alexandra Johnson in the women's 400, 55.86 seconds for third place.  While she just missed the podium, Jordan Brown moved into second in the school record books with her pole vault of 3.88 meters.

UP NEXT FOR THE CAJUNS
