LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana women's tennis team welcomes App State and Marshall looking to pick up a pair of Sun Belt Conference wins.  The Ragin' Cajuns host the Mountaineers on Friday, March 31 to open the weekend at Cajun Courts and close the weekend on Sunday, April 2 at the Youngsville Sports Complex against the Herd.

Entering the week the Cajuns have one win in SBC play, having faced four of the top five teams in the league.  They'll open the week against the lone top five they've yet to play in App State, who's 4-1 in conference action.

Angelique Berrat enters the weekend with a team-high seven wins in singles action.  She's 5-2 on the year on court three.  Right behind her with six wins each are Carla Urchoeguia and Cristina Tchanichev.  Urchoeguia has picked up five of her wins on court two with Tchanichev earning five of hers on court four.  The Ragin' Cajuns have done their best doubles work on court one with the duo of Berrat and Urchoeguia going 5-5.

The Mountaineers have won four of their last five, with the only loss a 4-3 defeat from SBC leading James Madison.  The team started the season 3-1 with the only loss to No. 2 UNC in their spring opener.  Savannah Dada-Mascoll leads the team with a 9-1 record, including a 6-0 mark on court two.  Helena Jansen is 6-4 on court one while Maggie Pate has won four matches on court three.

The Herd have alternated wins and losses over their last four contests, beating Radford and Georgia State.  Playing mostly on court two, Johanna Strom has had a great spring with a 13-1 record overall.  Doroteja Joksovic and Andjela Lopicic have won eight matches each in singles as well.  They've controlled doubles action with a combined 31-9 record.  Strom and Emma Vanderheyden are 10-3 on court one.  Aisling McGrane and Sophia Hurrion are a perfect 9-0 this spring while Gabrielle Clairotte and Rieke Gillar are 8-3 on the year.
