Monnoyer Picks Up First Collegiate Win at Georgia Southern

It was the freshman’s first win in seven tries this season
STATESBORO, Georgia – It took a comeback and a third set tiebreaker, but on Sunday Laure-Line Monnoyer earned the first win of her college career at Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Georgia. Monnoyer won the third set tiebreaker 13-11 to clinch her victory for the Louisiana women's tennis team.
Georgia Southern clinched the doubles point with 6-2 wins on both courts one and two. Things were closer in the singles matches. On court five, Momoko Yoshimura forced a tiebreaker in the second set but couldn't pull out the victory, falling 6-3, 7-6 (7-5). Cristina Tchanichev fell in her match in straight sets, but both went to a tiebreaker. Monnoyer dropped the opening set 6-3 before fighting back in the second 6-4, setting up her third set victory 13-11.
