Louisiana Knocks Off ULM for First SBC Win of the Season

The Ragin’ Cajuns earned their second straight win and sixth on the season in the win
MONROE – The Louisiana women's tennis team finished strong on Saturday, March 18, to earn their first win in Sun Belt Conference play at ULM. The Cajuns picked up singles wins on courts four, five, and six in the 5-2 win in Monroe, Louisiana.
After dropping the first doubles contest of the day, the Cajuns fought back for wins on courts two and three. The duo of Carla Uchoeguia and Angelique Berrat claimed their victory on court one, 6-3, before Angel Santiago and Momoko Yoshimura claimed a 6-3 win on court two for the doubles point.
Yoshimura picked up the team's first win in singles on court five, 6-2, 6-3. On court four Cristina Tchnichev's 6-1, 6-4 victory put the Cajuns on the brink of clinching. After the Warhawks won on court three to pull closer, Santiago closed the door with a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 win on court six. Lucie Raquin earned a hard fought three-set win to close the match for the Ragin' Cajuns.
