Louisiana Faces Jackson State, Mississippi State In Midweek Action

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball opens a five-game week on Tuesday when it wraps up a season-best eight-game homestand against Jackson State at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Fans can listen to the game locally on 103.3 The Goat, ESPN 1420 AM and on-line on the Varsity Network app.

Louisiana (10-5) continues its five-game week on Wednesday when it travels to face Mississippi State (11-5) in a 5 p.m. contest at MGM Park in Biloxi, Miss. The game with the Bulldogs – the final tuneup for Louisiana before opening Sun Belt Conference play on Friday at home against Arkansas State – will be available on SEC Network+ and can be heard on 103.3 The Goat, ESPN 1420 AM and on-line on the Varsity Network app.

The Ragin' Cajuns claimed their third weekend series of the season, taking two of three games from Big South Conference member High Point. Kyle DeBarge belted three home runs and drove in six runs during the series for Louisiana with Blake Marshall collecting two of his three saves last week against the Panthers.

The meeting with Jackson State will be the first since sweeping a three-game series in 2015. Redshirt freshman Blake McGehee is slated to make his first appearance since Opening Weekend for Louisiana with JSU expected to send southpaw Francis Thorne, Jr., to the hill.

The game against MSU, as part of the Hancock Whitney Classic, will mark Louisiana's first trip to MGM Park – the home of the Milwaukee Brewer's Double-A affiliate Biloxi Shuckers. Starters for both teams are to be determined.
