Women's Tennis Hosts Southern To Open Busy Weekend

LAFAYETTE – After being off the court nearly two weeks, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Tennis team opens a five-match homestand beginning on Friday when it hosts Southern University at Cajun Courts.

First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Louisiana (0-2), which last played on Jan. 29 at Rice, opens a busy weekend on its home court with three matches in three days beginning with Southern (0-3) in its home opener. The Ragin' Cajuns will continue the weekend slate on Saturday hosting McNeese (5-0) at 11 a.m. before facing Southeastern Louisiana (0-1) on Sunday at 1.

Carla Urchoeguia and Momoko Yoshimura each earned singles victories for Louisiana in their 2023 debut against Mississippi State on Jan. 15. Lucie Raquin has played the first two matches at No. 1 singles for the Ragin' Cajuns with Urchoeguia splitting her first two decisions on the No. 2 court.

Cristine Tchanichev, Angelique Berrat, Yoshimura and Angel Santiago have rounded out the No. 3-6 slots for Louisiana with Urchoguia and Berrat competing in the first two contests at No. 1 doubles.
