Themus Fulks led all scorers with 17 points
LAFAYETTE – From the word go Thursday it was all Louisiana men's basketball in the Cajundome against ULM. The Ragin' Cajuns had four players finish in double figures and led wire-to-wire in an 84-67 win.
It was all Themus Fulks in the opening minutes. The sophomore knocked down a pair of three-pointers and a pair of free throws for eight points in less than five minutes of action. Fulks continued to pour it on, making his next three baskets to push the Ragin' Cajuns (21-6, 11-4 SBC) ahead by 11.
The scoring didn't stop there. Jordan Brown converted a three-point play while Greg Williams, Jr., and Kobe Julien buried threes as part of a 13-0 run. In the run, Louisiana held the Warhawks (11-17, 7-8 SBC) scoreless for five-and-a-half minutes of action.
A 15-7 run to close the half, capped off by a Joe Charles three, had the Cajuns out in front 49-18 heading into the locker rooms.
Fulks started the second half with a three-pointer, one of three on the night for him to set a new career-high, and pushed the lead to 34. The visitors wouldn't go away though, climbing back into the game on .567 percent shooting in the second half. They trimmed the Louisiana lead to 13 before a 6-0 run by the Cajuns closed any doubt on the outcome of the game.
Brown quietly had 15 points and led all players with seven rebounds. Kenrell Garnett added 12 points while Terrance Lewis II had 11. Williams Jr. and Julien finished with nine points each.
The Cajuns only turned the ball over six times in the win, their lowest in a game since 2018. The win was the team's 10th wire-to-wire victory of the season.
