Louisiana has won the last 17 matchups against the Warhawks

MONROE, La. – Louisiana women's basketball continues its four-game road trip as it travels to face ULM on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. inside the Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

The Ragin' Cajuns (15-11, 9-5 SBC) have dominated the series, winning the last 17 matchups dating back to February 2015. Over the 17-game win streak, Louisiana has held ULM (7-18, 3-11 SBC) to 60-or-fewer points in all but one of the matchups.

The two teams previously met on Feb. 2 with the Ragin' Cajuns prevailing, 66-58. The Warhawks led by one heading in to the fourth quarter, but Louisiana responded in the fourth by shooting 61.5 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line.

Alicia Blanton led the way with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go along with four rebounds and three assists while Tamera Johnson added 13 points and nine rebounds.

Head coach Garry Brodhead registered his 100th Sun Belt victory as his squad used a balance offensive attack to a 58-48 victory over South Alabama last time out on Feb. 11.

Johnson led the team with 12 points and was one of nine Ragin' Cajuns to record a field goal. Sherry Porter added 10 points, and Jaylyn James scored seven.

The third quarter proved to be the difference as Louisiana closed down the frame on a 15-0 run and held the Jaguars scoreless for the last 6:16. Over the run, Louisiana's defense forced four turnovers as South Alabama missed its final six field goal attempts.

The Warhawks are looking to snap a four-game losing streak after falling to Troy on Saturday, 108-82. ULM is led by Emma Merriweather, who averages a team-high 9.6 points and 10.1 rebounds. Katlyn Manuel adds 8.9 points and 5.5 rebounds.
