Ragin’ Cajuns Continue Road Swing at South Alabama

Louisiana has won four of its last five games against the Jaguars
MOBILE, Ala. – Louisiana women's basketball looks to get back in to the win column Saturday as it continues its four-game road trip at South Alabama at 2 p.m. inside the Mitchell Center.
The Ragin' Cajuns (14-11, 8-5 SBC) are coming off a hard-fought defeat at James Madison on Thursday, 65-59. Against the Dukes, sophomore Mariah Stewart led the way with a season-high 17 points while Tamera Johnson recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Lanay Wheaton, in her first game since Jan. 26, added 11 points, her fifth consecutive game with 10-or-more points.
South Alabama (6-18, 2-11 SBC) topped ULM, 72-62, Thursday as four players scored in double figures. The Jaguars were led by Michiyah Simmons' 18 points as Kelsey Thompson and Kiana Anderson added 13 and Casey Ferguson scored 12.
The two teams previously met this season at the Cajundome with the Ragin' Cajuns prevailing, 66-49, on Jan. 23. Wheaton and Johnson combined for 34 points on 15 field goals helping Louisiana shoot 40-percent-or-higher in all four quarters. UL outrebounded USA, 38-28, while tallying eight steals.
With five regular season games remaining, the Ragin' Cajuns sit in a three-way tie for fourth place at 8-5 in conference play with Marshall and Southern Miss.
