Louisiana Announces Addition of Theyard to Coaching Staff

Theyard spent the last five seasons competing for the Cajuns
LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana track and field team welcomed one of their own to the coaching staff on Wednesday, October 25, with the addition of assistant coach Rylan Theyard.

Theyard spent the last five years as a member of the Ragin' Cajuns as a jumper, finishing his career with three All-Conference selections, twice in the triple jump and another in the long jump.
Â
He comes off a Cajun career that saw him have a strong 2023 season. As a senior, he finished second at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships in the triple jump along with a third-place finish in the long jump, setting a personal best at 7.38 meters.Â

His personal bests include 15.44 meters in the triple jump and 2.10 meters in the high jump.

While a student-athlete at Louisiana, Theyard was part of the 2022 Homecoming Court and a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the National Panhellenic Council.
