Louisiana Basketball to Open Season with Swamp Slam

The men’s and women’s teams will showcase their talents for the upcoming year
LAFAYETTE – Just in time for the start of the 2023-24 season, the Louisiana men's and women's basketball teams will showcase their talents for the public on October 25 in the inaugural Swamp Slam sponsored by Jet Coffee.
The evening begins at 7 p.m., outside the UL Student Union where after hearing from head women's basketball coach Garry Broadhead, the women's team will compete in a three-point contest. After performances by Ragin' Cheer and Ragin' Jazz, the stage will be set for the men's team to receive their Sun Belt Conference Championship rings.
Admission is free to Swamp Slam and parking will be available in Zone 7 between EK Long Gym and Billeaud Hall.
The men will then compete in a three-point contest of their own before facing off with the women to determine an overall Ragin' Cajun champion.
Fans will have their first opportunity to grab the 2023-24 team posters at Swamp Slam and students will have the opportunity to learn about the Red Dot Club. Food trucks will also be onsite providing concessions to fans in attendance.
