SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team wraps up a 10-game stint, where it played eight games away from the friendly confines of the Cajundome, on Saturday when it faces Texas State in a Sun Belt Conference game at Strahan Arena.

Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Brant Freeman (pxp) and Suzanne Fox (color) providing the commentary. Fans can listen to the game on KPEL-FM (96.5) and the Varsity Network with Jay Walker calling the action.

Louisiana (15-4, 5-2 Sun Belt), currently in a four-way tie for first place in the SBC standings, extended its win streak to five games after a wire-to-wire 80-71 victory at Arkansas State on Thursday.

Jordan Brown and Themus Fulks each posted double-doubles for Louisiana with Brown leading all players with 31 points and 13 rebounds. Fulks added 13 points and 11 assists for the Ragin' Cajuns, who enter Saturday's game ranked fifth nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (.401) and ninth in field goal percentage (.498).

Brown has paced Louisiana in scoring during the 2022-23 season averaging 19.8 points per game to rank second among SBC players. The junior has pulled down 7.8 rebounds per contest while leading the league in both free throw attempts (128) and free throws made (90).

Greg Williams, Jr., (12.9), Terence Lewis II (11.8), Fulks (8.6) and Kentrell Garnett (8.1) are next in scoring for Louisiana, which averages 81.1 points to rank third in the SBC and 22nd among Division I programs. Lewis leads the Ragin' Cajuns in rebounds (8.1) and is 13th nationally in field goal percentage (.642) while Fulks paces the league and is fifth in both total assists (124) and assists per game (6.5).

The meeting against Texas State (10-10, 3-4 Sun Belt) is the 24th all-time between the schools in a series which dates back to the 1959-60 season. Louisiana has won six of the 10 meetings between the schools in San Marcos and avoided a season-sweep last season after claiming a 79-72 victory over the Bobcats in the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Championships in Pensacola, Fla.

Louisiana, which is 6-3 overall and 4-3 in road games during the 10-game stretch, will return home on Thursday (Jan. 26) when it faces Troy in a 7 p.m. game at the Cajundome.

The game will mark the first of seven of the final 10 regular-season games at home for the Ragin' Cajuns, who will also face Georgia Southern (Jan. 28), Texas State (Feb. 2), Marshall (Feb. 4), ULM (Feb. 16), Arkansas State (Feb. 22) and the regular-season finale against South Alabama (Feb. 24).

THE FABULOUS CAJUN CHICKEN IS BACK ON FEB. 4
• The fowlest of the fowl is back, for a one-night roost at the Cajundome.
• For nearly two decades, the Fabulous Cajun Chicken delighted Ragin' Cajun athletic audiences with his unique brand of comedy, his never-ending list of characters and the level of zaniness he brought to his sideline and on-court antics.
• On Saturday, Feb. 4, when UL's basketball squad takes on Marshall at 7 p.m. in a key Sun Belt Conference game, the Chicken will make a one-night return to the court. It's a good bet that mayhem will result.
• That night is also Senior Night, when UL coach Bob Marlin and the Cajun program honors the senior members of the 2022-23 basketball squad. For the Fabulous Cajun Chicken, that's almost fitting.
• In addition to the festivities of Senior Night, UL will also have special ticket deals in place for the Feb. 4 game. Visit RaginCajuns.com/chicken for ticket information.
