Louisiana Opens Final Homestand On Tuesday Against Nicholls

Final midweek of the season for both teams; Louisiana hosts Little Rock beginning Thursday
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team begins its final homestand of the 2022 season beginning on Tuesday when it plays host to in-state foe Nicholls at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with fans able to listen to the game in the Lafayette area on ESPN Lafayette (103.3 FM / 1420 AM), the Varsity Network and the #GeauxCajuns app.
Louisiana (30-20) closes out the 2022 regular season with four games at home beginning with Nicholls (25-22) before hosting Little Rock in the final Sun Belt Conference series between the schools beginning on Thursday (May 19).
The Ragin' Cajuns return to action after suffering a three-game sweep at SBC leader and No. 15-ranked Texas State, dropping the three games by a combined six runs.
Nicholls plays its final regular-season game of the 2022 campaign before opening play on Thursday in the opening weekend of the Southland Conference Tournament. The Colonels, who snapped a seven-game losing streak in Saturday's 11-inning win over Southeastern Louisiana, will open play against Northwestern State in a four-team pod in Lake Charles.
Louisiana leads the all-time series against the Colonels, 74-55-1, with Nicholls claiming a walk-off 6-5 win over the Ragin' Cajuns on March 23 in Thibodaux.
