LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team wraps up a five-game roadtrip when it travels to face in-state opponent Nicholls on Wednesday at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field.

Louisiana (9-10) looks to get back in the win column after being swept in its opening Sun Belt Conference series last weekend at Troy. The Ragin' Cajuns opened their roadtrip with a 10-8 win at McNeese last Wednesday.
Carson Roccaforte (.385-3-23), Connor Kimple (.317-4-18) and Heath Hood (.309-2-11) have paced Louisiana at the plate with freshman Kyle DeBarge (.268-0-9), Will Veillon (.263-1-3), Julian Brock (.241-0-3) and Tyler Robertson (.233-1-5) helping fuel the Ragin' Cajuns attack.
Sophomore right-hander Peyton Havard (1-1, 2.92 ERA) will earn the start on the mound for Louisiana with Nicholls' starter to be announced.
Nicholls (9-9), under first-year coach Mike Silva, averages a Southland Conference-best 7.1 runs per game and is tops in the league in on-base percentage (.407).
Jaden Collura (.405-0-6), one of three regulars hitting above .300 on the season, leads the Colonels at the plate with Xane Washington (.323-4-13) pacing the team in home runs. Edgar Alvarez (.298-2-18) is the top run producer for Nicholls with Dane Simon (.215-0-9) leading the team with nine stolen bases.
The Colonels post a 5.10 earned run average as a team with Cade Evans (0-0, 2.16 ERA, 3 Saves), Brandon Andrews (0-0, 2.35 ERA) and Tyler Theriot (3-1, 2.63 ERA) leading the way.
The Colonels return to the field for the first time in seven days after dropping a 5-3 decision at Tulane on March 16.
